I grew up in the streets of Greenspoint Houston and Jessica grew up in the valley of Northern California. For most of my teenage years, I rebelled and was involved in the Northside Houston street culture. My biggest dream was to be a professional basketball player, I’m 5’8 so that didn’t work out to well. Jessica, on the other hand, was a good girl who loved Jesus and dreamed of being a teacher. At seventeen when I was broken, lost and without purpose, God saved me! Once I understood the greatness of God’s love, the depth of His forgiveness and His endless supply of grace, hope overwhelmed my soul and I was never the same again! It was then that I felt a burning in my heart to preach the life-changing message of Jesus. After a few years, Jessica and I met and we were married in 2005. Since then, God has blessed us with four awesome children – Micah, Isabella, Ezra and Elena. I worked in Oil and Gas and volunteered at our church as a youth pastor until Jessica and I were convinced that God called us to plant a church that would reach our city. We’re excited to launch The Anchor and more excited to see what God will do in and through your life!

It’s why we do, what we do
So that people far from God will know and tell others about the Hope that is found in Jesus

Serving our city; multiplying disciples, leaders, and churches.
Honor Jesus – We go all in.
We honor Jesus by always giving our best. When we do things, we don’t do them halfway. We go all in. Everything is to the best of our ability because He deserves our enthusiasm, passion, and excellence.
Open handed – We hold nothing back.
Opened handed generosity holds nothing back. It is about going above and beyond. We are generous in our time, talents, and treasures.
People People – We love all people.
Jesus loves all people, so we love all people. Since we’re called to reach those who are far from God, we do whatever it takes to love on, care for, listen to and bring hope to every relationship. We’re approachable, energetic, sociable and positive.
Ever Multiplying – We make a difference.
God wants us to make a difference, so we personally share the hope of Jesus. We train, build, invest, release and send out world changers. We don’t maintain, we multiply.

The Holy Bible, and only the Bible, is the authoritative Word of God. It alone is the final authority in determining all doctrinal truths. In its original writing, it is inspired, infallible and inerrant. (Psalm 12:6; Psalms 119:11; 89; Isaiah 40:8; Matthew 22:29; John 5:39; 16:13-15; 17:17 II Timothy 3:15-17; II Peter 1:20-21; Proverbs 30:5; Romans, 15:4; Romans 16:25-26; Hebrews 4:12; 1 Peter 1:25).
There is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Although each member serves in different functions, they each possess equal power and authority. (Genesis 1:26; Isaiah 9:6; Matthew 3:16-17, 28:19; Luke 1:35; I John 5:7, Hebrews 3:7-11).
GOD THE FATHER
God is great: He is all powerful, all knowing, ever present, unchanging, completely worthy of our trust, and above all, Holy. It is in Him that we live, move and exist. God is good. He is our Father. He is loving, compassionate, and faithful to His people and His promises. (Numbers 23:19; Leviticus 11:44-45; Isaiah 64:8; Malachi 2:10; Malachi 3:6; John 3:16; John 4:24; John 5:26; Acts 17:27; Ephesians 4:6; 1 Corinthians 8:6; James 1:17).
Jesus Christ is God the Son, the second person of the Trinity. He is completely human but, at the same time completely God. He was born of a virgin and lived a sinless life. He is perfect. Because of His perfection He alone paid for the sins of all mankind by dying on the cross. He defeated death in His resurrection so that we can have the free gift of eternal life. He ascended to the right hand of the Father, and will return again in power and glory. (John 1:1,14, 20:28; I Timothy 3:16; Isaiah 9:6; Philippians 2:5-6; 1 Timothy 2:5).
THE HOLY SPIRIT
The Holy Spirit is God and is the third person of the Trinity. His presence assures us of our relationship with Christ. He guides believers into all truth and exalts Christ. He convicts people of their sin, righteousness and judgment. He regenerates, comforts, indwells, seals, distributes spiritual gifts, baptizes believers and makes us more like Christ. (Genesis 1:2; Psalm 51:11; 139:7 ff.; Isaiah 61:1-3; Joel 2:28-32; Mark 1:10; Luke 1:35; 4:1; 11:13; 12:12; John 15:26; 16:7-14; Acts 1:8; 2:1-4; 13:2; Romans 8:9-11, 14-16, 26-27; 1 Corinthians 3:16; Ephesians 1:13-14; 2 Peter 1:21; Revelation 22:17)
We are saved by grace alone, apart from works (whether past or future) through faith in Jesus Christ; His death, burial, and resurrection. Salvation happens at the moment people put their faith in Jesus Christ, He then imputes righteousness and the Holy Spirit seals and keeps believers secure eternally. Salvation is a free gift from God; it cannot be earned through good works or our own efforts. (Isaiah 1:18; 53:5-6; Matthew 26:28; John 1:12; John 3:15-16,16, 36; 6:29; 14:6; Acts 2:21; 4:12; 13:38-39; 16:31; Romans 1:7, 16-17; 3:22, 26; 4:4-5; 5:1, 6-9; 6:11-13, 23; 8:2-4, 9, 12-13, 29-30, 32; 10:4, 17; 1 Corinthians 1:2, 8; 6:11; 12:13; 15:1-4; 2 Corinthians 3:18; 5:21; 7:1; Galatians 2:16, 3:8, 5:13-26; 6:15; Ephesians 1:3, 7; 2:8-9; 4:22-24; Philippians 3:4-9; Colossians 1:22; 2:6, 10; 3:1-7, 16; 1 Thessalonians 2:13; 4:3-4; 5:23; Titus 3:5-7; Hebrews 4:12, 9:22, 10:10, 14; 12:14; James 1:18; 1 Peter 1:18-19, 23; 2:2, 11; 1 John 1:5-7; 3:2, 5-9; 5:13; Jude 24)
THE LIFE OF THE BELIEVER
We believe that although sinless perfection is not possible in this life, all believers are called to live holy lives, empowered and enabled by the indwelling Holy Spirit. (John 17:17; Romans 8:1-17; Galatians 5:13-25; Ephesians 5:26-27; 1 Thessalonians 4:3-4; Hebrews 10:10, 14; 1 John 3:2)
We believe all people are created in the image of God and are the supreme object of His creation. Man was created to have fellowship with God but became separated in that relationship through the sinful disobedience of the first man, Adam. As a result, man’s only hope is in Christ’s salvation because he cannot attain a right relationship with God through his own effort. (Genesis 1:26-31, 2:7,18-22; 3; Psalms 32:1-5; 51:5; Romans 3:23-25; 5:12-21, 1 Corinthians 15:19; 21-22; Ephesians 2; Colossians 1:21-22).
The Church is the local and global community of believers that are unified through their faith in Jesus Christ. The purpose of the church is to glorify God by loving and obeying Him. The Church works together in unity and love to serve those in need, bring the hope of the gospel to the world, and make disciples. This is possible through the empowerment and special gifting distributed by the Holy Spirit to each believer. (Isaiah 58:6-12; Matthew 16:18-19; 28:16-20; Acts 2:41-47; 5:11-14; 13:1-3;16:5; 20:28; 1Corinthians 12; Ephesians 1:22-23; 3:7-12; 4:11-16; Colossians 1:18; 3:15; 1 Timothy 4:14; Hebrews 10:23-25; 1 Peter 2:9-10; 5:1-4)
We believe in the personal, visible and imminent return of Christ and the establishing of His Kingdom. We believe that our eternal destination of either heaven of hell is determined by our faith in Jesus alone. (Matthew 24:29-30; John 3:16, 36; Romans 6:23; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; 1 John 2:25; 5:11-13; Titus 2:13; Revelation 20:15)
